The Senior Phase at The King’s High School Linbro Park offers a
triple-faceted school life for the learner. While promoting excellence in
academic work and sports there is a strong emphasis on the spiritual dimension
of the individual.
It goes without saying that small classes offer a personal and individual
attention that is not available in larger schools. A professional staff sees to
it that all learners work to the best of their abilities and are quite prepared
to attend to the needs of learners after school. A good range of popular
subjects is offered so that learners may easily map out their career paths. At
the end of the grade 12 year, learners write the I.E.B. Senior Certificate
Examination.
Most of the major sports are offered at the school with trained
coaches from Active Education ensuring that learners receive the best. The
school participates in the arena of the South African Christian Schools Sports
Association (SACSSA), and there are ample opportunities for participation at the
school, regional and national levels. Year after year, learners from this school
participate in the SACSSA national athletics championship held at the ABSA
Stadium in Durban.
Since the school is a ministry of London Road Church, on whose premises it is
situated, the spiritual ethos permeates every facet of school life. The
education offered here is strongly Christ-centered. The year begins with a
five-day camp for the entire senior phase in which leadership qualities, as well
as Christian morals and ethics, are inculcated. We also offer leadership camps
each year for the Grade 10 and 11 learners. At these camps they are equipped
with practical tools for success while also being groomed and selected for
leadership roles such as Prefects and Student Representatives on the Student
Representative Council at the school. Every Monday there is a general assembly
for the senior school at which speakers from churches and Christian
organizations address the school. Over and above all of this, the elders of the
London Road Church oversee the activities of the school.
Alumni of The King’s School Linbro Park have gone on to achieve well in
business, sport and other pursuits following their matriculation. We are
grateful for the opportunity we have to give many young people a foundation onto
which they can build a successful, productive future.
