The vision of The King’s School Linbro Park speaks of providing a
Christ-centred learning environment. This spiritual focus permeates all that we
do both inside and outside of the classroom.
But what does it mean to be “Christ-centred”?
First and foremost, we seek to embrace and model Biblical values. The values
that we have identified as foundational can be divided into three
aspects:
HEAD: (Our understanding of
educational ministry) 1. Linking our actions to our
beliefs 2. Being biblically-based in all we do 3. Active
involvement in the Great Commission 4. Accountability to church
leadership 5. Equipping learners for Christian service
HEART: (Our attitude toward
educational ministry) 6. Intimacy with God that produces
fruitfulness 7. Servanthood 8. Willingness to work hard and
sacrifice 9. Flexibility and creativity 10. Character
development before functional training
HANDS: (Our educational
ministry style) 11. Teamwork between learners, parents
and educators 12. Encouraging learners to openly and confidently live
for Christ 13. Dependence upon the anointing of the Holy
Spirit 14. Relationship, not just task orientation 15. No
partiality or discrimination 16. Expressing the gifts and ministry of
the Holy Spirit
Second, our staff of committed Christians seek to model these values as we
work alongside parents and churches in the spiritual formation of each of our
learners.
As educators, we have seen the vital importance of promoting spiritual growth
in conjunction with academic learning. These two developmental thrusts must work
hand-in-hand to enable a learner to reach his or her God-given potential.
